My After School Chronology, Ex-Roommates, and Current Roommate

ROOMMATES AND CHRONOLOGY.

After I get my SPM results, I studied in Form 6 about a fortnight in my previous school, Sekolah Menengah Abdul Rahman Talib(SMART), Kuantan.

Then I went to Universiti Teknologi Mara(UiTM) Kampus Khazanah Alam, Jengka, taking Diploma in Planting Industry Management. It was a very shocking moment for me because I never expected to be in that course. I was too confident that I will be getting a place for an English course, so I was not serious when I filled the UPU form. I filled the first four choices with English courses, and the rest were filled with crappy courses. Alas, I got the crappy one. Reap what you sow. Haha.

My room when I was in UiTM was in Block B, on the third floor, the nearest to the toilet(I can't remember the number.Sigh~). The room was small, but survivable. There were 4 people in my room(that includes me). Here are my Ex-Roommates from UiTM.

Name: Muzamir
Nickname: Meer
Course: Diploma in Civil Engineering

Name: Irfan
Nickname: Epan
Course: Diploma in Planting Industry Management(now taking Culinary somewhere in KL)

Name: Alifzaim
Nickname: Paip
Course: Diploma in Civil Engineering

Before I could sit for my final examinations, I received an offer from Islamic International University Malaysia(IIUM) for Information and Communication Technology(ICT). I moved there a week before the final examinations in UiTM. I went there with my dad and my eldest brother Sokat.

In UIA, my room was in Marhalah Umar Al-Khatab 1, on the fourth floor, middle section of the block(where they put TV). Again, I couldn't remember the room number. The room was twice larger than the room in UITM. There were 3 ex-roomates when I was in the first semester there. My UIA Ex-Roomates are:

(Can't find his Picture)
Name: Khalid
Nickname: Kaled, CR7
Course: Information and Communication Technology(ICT)

Name: Amirul Nazree
Nickname: Nazree
Course: Information and Communication Technology(ICT)

Name: Rohul Izzat
Nickname: Rohul
Course: Bioscience

I did really bad in the final examinations. I didn't get to change course because of the results. But I did stay in the second semester for a really short time. These were my roommates back then:

Name: Fakhrurazi
Nickname: Fuck
Course: Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Name: Irfaan
Nickname: Irfaan
Course: Bioscience

Not to forget Khalid, my first semester roommate(mentioned earlier)

After being rejected from taking an English course in UIA, I quit and applied for a TESL course in IPG.

This is where I am now(hopefully the last educational institution I went to before Masters). The hostel is comfortable. Small rooms(actually quite the same as the one in UITM) but only for two people which makes it more comfortable and spacious. However, we must change our room every year. Oh, I almost forgot, this is my current roommate:

Name : Subaidi Samat
Preferred being called : Subaidi
Disliked being called : Bai
I call him : Bai (jangan marah) :p
Hometown : Keratong, Pahang.
Birthday : 25th July 1991
Hobby : Read, watching movies, dramas and animes
Previous University : UiTM Kuantan (Law)

Okay, I think that's all of my ex-roommates and the current one. It's very nice to meet and know them and I hope that we can meet again! v(n_n)v

P/S: I should have done this a long time ago. Haha. :p

It's Batok, Not Batuk.

AN IDIOM THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED.

Idiom is an expression that means something other than the literal meanings of its individual words. In Malay, idioms are called peribahasa. Remember my last post, "Peanut Forgot It Shells"? I'ts actually a Malay idiom which means someone who forgot the deeds of people who help him or her. Just like the shell of the peanut, which helped in protecting the nuts from being crushed easily, keeping the texture of the nuts smooth. Then when it's time to eat the nuts, the shells are forgotten and thrown away just like that.

 The Peanut's Pod

They tend to forget.

Peanuts' Shells

Okay, enough talking about nuts. Back to the title. There's a Malay idiom, "Melepaskan batuk ditangga". This idiom means that someone is doing something the half way.But there's only one problem and it is practiced by majority of todays Malaysians.Hmm~

CURIOUS?

 Let's go deeper.

The problem is in here, "Melepaskan batuk ditangga". "Melepaskan" means to let go or to release, "Batuk" means to cough, and "di tangga" means on the stairs. When combined, it became to release cough on the stairs. What's the significance of that? What does the idiom symbolises? Does it mean we can't cough on the stairs? No!! That one letter had been confusing us all over this years.

The actual idiom is like this, "Melepaskan batok ditangga". "Batok" is coconut shell. In old days, people in Malaysia used "batok" to take some water from the crock(placed outside of the house)to wash their feet before entering the house. There is a place to hang it after it had been used. That is when the idiom is created, where after people finished washing their feet, they left it on the stairs without hanging it onto it's place. This situation explains the actual meaning of the idiom.

"Batok"

It is understandable that people nowadays, confused with the usage of "batuk" and "batok" because the pronunciations are exactly the same. With the usage of shoes and cleaner roads to walk on compared with old ones, I believed that only a small number of people would continue the practice of washing their feet using "batok" before entering the house.

Washing feet using "batok"

The idea of posting this idiom is an inspiration from my dad who often told me about the misinterpretation of the idiom. He then told me a story of him arguing with his friend whom I think my dad mentioned that he had a high education of Malay Language(Master or something). My father told him that "batok" in the idiom does not mean coughing and he doesn't believe him. My father then asked him to checked out the meaning of "batok" in Kamus Dewan(a malay dictionary). His friend was speechless when he read the meaning of "batok"(coconut shell) and my father won the argument.

Thanks Ayah!(n_n)

Filthy Shitty Kitty.

Like Peanut Forgot Its Shells.
(Kacang lupakan kulit) :p

Cats are always considered as cute and lovable. Yes. I couldn't agree more to that. But I do hate them sometimes (most of the times actually). Most cats are friendly and would be a good species to be kept as pet. The only thing is, CATS ARE NOT LOYAL. They tend to follow and be nice to anyone who feeds them.

Okay, enough writing on their cuteness. Well this is what happened today. We cooked Sambal Ikan Bilis + Petai today. Then, we gave the remaining anchovies that were not cooked yet to a cute and loving cat. Guess what happened.

Yes. It pooped. To add more seasons to that, it pooped right outside my neighbors' room(N220&N219, mine is N221), in my friend's shoe bag and it peed around it, leaving a very deadly, pungent smell(nasib baik ko xde akal, kalo x,da lama kena tikam).  Then it left and went to the other block. My friends  couldn't do anything except for cursing the cat and cleaning up the mess. I think, that would be the last time we feed the cats here. We gave you food, you give us shit. That is seriously not a good barter system. That's all for today, think twice before you feed. (seriously)

P/S: The shoe bag? My friend threw it away. Haha.

I Became Arrogant, I Did.

ARROGANCE

I became arrogant. I wasn't like this before. If you know me well enough, you'd know that I was not an arrogant person . I always greet people before they greet me. I greeted the teachers, the cleaners, my friends, my seniors, uncles or aunts whom I don't even know who they are, even my juniors. Unfortunately, I realised what i have become.

In case you didn't know the meaning, this is the definition:
ar·ro·gant/ˈarÉ™gÉ™nt/

Adjective: Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities.

These are the possible reasons that made me feel I don't want to greet anyone anymore:

 1. I greeted, they looked at me, turned the other way, and act like they were just seeing a tree waving its leaves. (Ouch! That's embarrassing you know!)

 2. They knew who I am, I greeted and they act like I was invisible and gave me such an arrogant look. (Can I poke your eyes please?)

 3. I greeted them for a hundred times(Yeah, it's a lie. It's just a few time then I got annoyed) but they still ignored me. (WHY??!!!)

Then I got tired from all the response that I received. Now, I didn't greet the seniors, I only greet whom I knew or those that gave me a warm response and I didn't even greet the elders. The lecturers, when I see them walking towards me (except for my class lecturers), I have a hard time greeting them. It's not easy and my hand (Gosh, it's so heavy to raise my hand nowadays).

So, please give good response to those who greets you. If it's too hard to raise your hand, or even to say hello, just give them a sincere smile. :)

Gat Dem - Memori

Salam sejahtera..

This my first attempt on writing a Malay lyric.. It's a bit complicated but still straight forward and understandable.. For now, the beginning of the verses sounded like Acha Septriasa's song.. My drummer keep on telling me to change the melody of the song.. haha.. I will Alep, just waiting for some ideas to come.. So here it goes..(n_n)

.Memori.

Tidak ku nafikan kita pernah bahagia,
Walaupun sekali-sekala kita pernah berduka cita,
Pernah kau janjikan kau takkan meninggalkanku,
Namun apakan daya kata-katamu hanya palsu..

Biarkan aku meratapi nasibku ini,

Pergilah kamu yang menghancurkan hatiku..

Ku takkan memaafkanmu,

Ku takkan menghalangmu,

Kau pergilah bersama janjimu..
Ku takkan pernah mengalah,
Kau kan terus rasa bersalah,
Kan ku buang memori kita berdua..

Amat ku takutkan kau akan kembali lagi,

Lalu ku menutup pintu hatiku yang pernah kau punyai,

Cukuplah semua beban yang aku rasakan,
Jangan kau kejutkan perasaan yang telah lama ku tinggalkan..

Biarkan aku meratapi nasibku ini,

Pergilah kamu yang menghancurkan hatiku..

Ku takkan memaafkanmu,

Ku takkan menghalangmu,

Kau pergilah bersama janjimu..
Ku takkan pernah mengalah,
Kau kan terus rasa bersalah,

Kan ku buang memori kita berdua..

By the way, one of my friend asked, "Nape la time2 ko tgh panas bercinta, ko wat lagu breakup?. Well mate, I don't know.. I just came to my head.. And it doesn't relate to my current relationship at all(Jangan risau eh laopo).. (n_n)

Gat Dem - The Truth

Gat Dem - The Truth

.The Truth.

This is not the first time,
It feels like lightning strikes my foolish heart,
I can no longer hear you but I see you mime,
Look myself in the mirror and break it to shards..

If you had told me the truth,
My anger won't burst,
If you had told me the truth,
This won't happen to us,
If you had told me the truth,
My heart won't be cut to slices,
Because of the truth,
My heaven turns into a circus..

You shouldn't hide when i seek the truth,
I gave you chances but you deceived me instead,
I was really hoping for our love to be smooth,
Don't blame me when my heart is dead..
